PTA
FOLSS (Friends of Little Sutton School) is Little Sutton Primary School’s PTA, and a registered charity. The objective of FOLSS is to raise funds to purchase equipment to further enhance the educational needs of pupils whilst promoting the family ethos of our school community. FOLSS also fund raise for other charities.
Money-raising events are organised for the children and their families to participate in. They include summer fairs, BBQs, family bingo nights, wine tasting, cookery lessons, Mothers’ Day/Fathers’ Day shop and community Christmas singing events.
We have helped raise funds for the outdoor classroom ‘Bugs Wood’ and donated money to the school Gardening Club, new staging and lighting, PA system, projector in the school hall and installed drinking water fountains. We have helped fund a music workshop, junior chef workshop, discos, Christmas parties and entertainers.
Another way of raising money is through match funding at your place of work. For very little effort you may be able to help your child’s school – please ask your employer. In the past we have received funding from parents who work at MBNA, HBOS and Shell.
We also do extra little things that parents appreciate, such as organising discos for the children, subsidising school trips, providing ice pops at sports day, treats at Christmas and gifts for Year 6 leavers.
For those involved with FOLSS it has become a great way to meet other parents and make new friends, as well as helping your child’s school. So, whilst your child attends Little Sutton C of E Primary School, we ask that you give FOLSS your support in any way you can.
