Autumn 2
We have an exciting second term ahead of us in Peregrine Class. Our English book, as part of ‘Pathways to Write’ will be ‘Can we save the tiger? by Martin Jenkins. This is a visually stunning and informative picture book about the world’s endangered animals.
In Maths, we use the Power Maths scheme, which focuses on problem solving and key areas of learning from the National Curriculum. It challenges our mathematical thinking and displays it in real life situations. We also use TT Rockstars to practise our timetables and take on different challenges. The unit for this term is fractions and measure (metric and imperial).
As scientists, we will be learning about the unit ‘Energy: light and reflection’. We will be exploring how light travels in straight lines and that this explains observations of shadows and reflection.
As Geographers, we will be learning about where our energy comes from. We will discover why energy is important, where is comes from and forms of renewable and non-renewable energy.
