SEN

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
It is important that schools within a local authority have a co-ordinated approach to meeting the needs of children with special educational needs and disabilities.  As a Cheshire West and Chester school, we follow the principles of inclusion set out by the local authority and value the support given by LA professionals in order to ensure children make the best possible progress and fulfil their potential.

Children with SEND often need additional or tailored support in reaching their potential: they have barriers to learning which may require a different approach.  The main areas of SEND are:

  • Communication and Interaction
  • Cognition and Learning
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties
  • Sensory and/or Physical

Local Offer
The ‘Local Offer’ is designed to support parents of children with SEND in making educational choices for their child and in understanding the provision available.
