Dance festival success for Little Sutton pupils
We’re thrilled to announce that our year 6 dancers have been crowned champions at the recent Ellesmere Port and Neston Street Dance Festival!
Our dance crew took part in the festival at the Civic Hall on Thursday 17th March, with the festival linked to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. Each of the 22 schools taking part in the dance festival represented a country who will be participating in the Commonwealth Games. The Little Sutton dancers played the part of Sri Lanka, with yellow and burgundy outfits in line with the national flag of the South Asian island.
To prepare for the dance festival, the Little Sutton dance team undertook 6 weeks of rehearsals from January 2022 through to March, with Shadazzle Dance instructors Maria and Laura. Over 500 children from across Ellesmere Port and Neston took part, with the Little Sutton dancers taking home the winners’ certificates.
Callum Bowness, our year 6 teacher at Little Sutton C of E Primary School, said: It was an unbelievable evening. The self-belief, teamwork and dedication shown by our Year 6 pupils was incredible. They really are a special group; it was a real proud moment for their parents, and a moment that the children will never forget. The children have loved taking part in the 6-week programme, but to be crowned the champions of the competition by the panel of judges was the perfect end to their hard work.”
Well done to all of the children involved!
